Ben A. Niehus
REMSEN, IA.--Special: Funeral services for Ben A. Niehus, 75, retired farmer who died Friday at his home here, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Francis Schultes officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Niehus was born July 15, 1884, at Petersburg, Ia. He came to Remsen as a young man and farmed in this community until his retirement in 1951 when he moved to town.

He was married to Katherine Deitermann June 3, 1913. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are the widow: six sons, Gilbert, LeRoy, Edmund, and Walter, all of Remsen, Cletus of Castle Rock, Colo., and Raymond of Riverside, Calif., a brother; four sisters and 17 grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Saturday and at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Fisch funeral home here.
