He was a 1971 graduate of Ironton High School. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran with eight years active duty and 12 years in the naval reserve. He was retired from the Department of Defense. He was very athletic and loved all sports. He played for the Oceana Naval Base Basketball team.
He is survived by
his daughter, Kristi Moore;
granddaughter, Brandalyn Hodges of Eden;
his sons, Eric Moore and Nicholas Moore, both of Eden;
his special friend, Virginia Dishmon Moore of Eden;
his father, Richard Oney of Ironton;
his siblings, Pauline Dickerson of Ashland, Ky., Ruby and Tony Kerns of Hanging Rock, Peggy Ison, Jane and Jimmy Blankenship and Tommy Moore, all of Ironton, Betty and Bud Browning of Wayne W.Va.;
numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by
his mother, Susan Oney;
his sisters, Nancy Conn and Lily Mae Gee;
his brother, Junior Moore.
