Laura "Jane" Blankenship, 76, of Ironton, Ohio, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 5, 2020, with her family by her side. Jane was born August 4, 1944, in Huntington, West Virginia; a daughter to the late Richard and Susan (White) Oney. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James E. Blankenship in 2012.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by:

siblings: Nancy Conn, Lily Gee, Pauline Dickerson, Tom Moore, Richard Moore and Clarence Moore.

 

She attended Greater Faith Apostolic Church in Ironton. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse....."As for me and my house we will serve the Lord" and she lived that life from a young age. She was a graduate of Ironton High School and was a former CNA and Laundry Supervisor for Sunset Nursing Home.

 

She is survived by:

her son: Richard Gee

her daughter: Janey Blankenship

sisters: Ruby Kerns and Peggy Ison, all of Ironton and Betty Jo Browning of Wayne, WV

5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends, who will miss her dearly.

 

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton, Ohio with Pastor Jeremy Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.
