H. L. Calk Sr.
SALUDA — Homer L. Calk Sr., 69, died at a Columbia hospital at 4:45 p.m. Friday after a three-week illness.
A native of Saluda County, son of the late J. W. and Barbara Haromon Calk, he was a merchant here 40 years, was a member of the American Legion and Emory Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War 1.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth Herlong Calk; two sons, Homer Calk Jr. and Willie Calk of Saluda; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Allen of Saluda; four brothers. L. D. and Seth Calk of Saluda, Travis Calk of Savannah, Ga., and Willie Calk of Aiken; a sister, Mrs. Jess Bedenbaugh of Saluda; and five grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be annouced by Ramey's Funeral Home.
