Will Calk Of Saluda Passes at 85
SALUDA, Aug. 9 (Special)— Will Calk, 85, died at his son's home at Batesburg Monday night after a period of declining health.
Mr. Calk lived all his life in Saluda County where he made his home with his son, L. D. Calk.
Survivors include six sons, Homer and L. D. Calk of Saluda, John Willie of Aiken, Fred of Batesburg, Travis Rawl of Savannah, Ga., and Seth Calk of Ocean City, N. J.; one daughter, Mrs. Ona Ray Bedenbaugh of Saluda; one step-son, Harold McCarty of Saluda; one half-sister, Mrs. Ray Freeman of Greenville; one half-brother, James Calk of Washington, D. C.; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Two of Mr. Calk's previous wives are dead. His first wife was the former Miss Barbara Ann Harmon, his second wife was the former Miss Eula Bell McCarty.
Funeral services will be conducted from Emory Methodist Church near Saluda at 5 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. H. F. Bauknight assisted by the Rev. H. H. Hoover.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
The body will be at Ramey Funeral Home here.
