MRS JOHN KIRSCHNER
Funeral services for Mrs. John (Mathilda) Kirschner, 94, Wells, were held Friday, October 6, at 1:30 pm at the Heitner Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Herbert F Cook officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth.
Casket bearers were Ray Harris, Floyd Harper, Howard Anderson, Vern Eastman, Theodore Thisius and Art Passer. Mrs. Kirschner died at her home Tuesday, October 3, at 8 pm. Death was attributed to advanced age, following an illness of several months. She was born July 21, 1873, in Clark Township, a daughter of Christian and Cathryn Gaines. She had lived her entire lifetime in this area. She married John C Kirschner at Wells November 25, 1890. They had been married 62 years, when her husband died in 1952. Mrs. Kirchner was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters, Alma Kirschner and Mrs. Mamie Jensen, both of Wells; two sons, George of St. Cloud and Frank of Wells; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1952, three sisters and seven brothers.
