Ruby was the daughter of Will Bryant and Addie Bryant. She was educated in the Houston County School System. At the age of 8 she joined the Sandbed Baptist Church in Kathleen, Georgia under the leadership of her Grandfather, Rev George G. Taylor. She served as President of the Senior Choir, President of the Missionary Board, Church Reporter, Deaconess Board, Mother Board and was Founder and President of the Union Charity Program of Houston County.

Ruby was reconized as the First Black Female Licensed Funeral Director and Notary in Houston County, Georgia. She was also a Licensed Insurance Agent and Wedding Director. She was a life member of the NAACP and served as Treasurer for many years in the organization. She was also a member of the SCLC, Secretary of the Grand Lodge #2 and #5, King of Honor Lodge, Subordinate Lodge Union Brothers and Sisters of Love Lodge, the Third District Georgia Funeral Service Practitioners Association Inc, Chamber of Commerce and the Committe on Housing Authority.

She was formerly a co-owner of RNT Funeral Home in Warner Robins, Georgia. She was the co-founder of the Richardson Funeral Home in Perry, Geoargia and the Richardson And Son Funeral Home in Warner Robins, Geoargia.

She was married to Rayfield Richardson. They had 1 Son who preceded her in death, David Richardson.

On January 30,2003 at 12:15am, this very busy life ended at the Perry Hospital in Perry, Georgia.

1 Brother: Clyde Jackson.
2 Sisters: Alice Davis and Bessie Bailey.
1 Daughter-In-Law: Henry Mae Richardson.
2 Granddaughters: Jacqueline Jackson and Cheryl Watkins.
4 Grandsons: Carl David Richardson, Calvin Jerome Richardson, James Richardson and Eric Richardson.
6 Sisters-In-Law: Cora L. Milton, Essie Johnson, Clifford Richardson, Mildred Jackson, Carrie L. Jackson and Irene Richardson.
3 Brothers-In-Law: Abraham Davis Jr, J.C. Woodard and Eddie Johnson.
17 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, February 3,2003 at 3:30pm in the Perry High School Auditorium in Perry, Georgia with DR Walter L. Glover officiating.
