Jonesboro – Evalyne M. Furnish, 91, died at 4:45 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012, in her residence. She was born in Marion, Indiana on May 12, 1920 to the late Paul E. and Gertrude E. (Holly) Spaulding. She married Delbert D. Furnish and he preceded her in death. Evalyne was a supervisor at RCA and retired in 1976 after 27 years of employment. She attended XYZ (Extra Years of Zest) at Twin City Baptist Church and was a member of the Red Hatters. She had a lifetime love of gardening and previously played the piano every Sunday for 3 nursing homes. Evalyne hosted lunch and music fellowship every Friday for over 20 years for family and friends. The Saturday before Halloween she celebrated "Pumpkin Pie Day" by baking over 100 pumpkin pies from scratch for anyone who wanted to enjoy the food and fellowship.

Survivors include her daughter, Dixie (Bradford) Stetler, Marion; sons, Tom Locke, Jonesboro, Brett (Sherry) Furnish, Gas City; grandchildren, William DeLaPorte, Joanne Hix, Amy Flud, Arthur DeLaPorte, Corbin Locke, Mary Evalyne Locke, Raymond Marks, William Marks, LeeAnna Furnish, Karissa Moreno, Alexandra Furnish; 5 step-daughters, 1 step-son, 23 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren; sisters, Marcella (Pete Harris) Harstine and Norma Ferguson; brothers, Raymond (Joan) Spaulding, and Wayne Spaulding.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Gertrude Spaulding; husband, Delbert D. Furnish; daughter, Joyce C. DeLaPorte; sisters, Virginia Eib and Vivian Pherson; and brother, Robert Harold Spaulding.

Visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, Indiana.

Funeral Service will be at 11 am on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Twin City Bible Baptist Church, 7252 Meridian Street, Marion with Reverend Dale Schuiteman officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
