"WAYNESBURG, May 7—Sylvanus Irwin Lippencott, 82, well known retired farmer, died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 1944, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Furman Nichols, of Morrisville.

"On Memorial Day, 1943, Mr. Lippencott fell while in Brownsville and fractured his leg. He was never again able to walk.

"He was a well known farmer, and spent his entire life in Franklin Township, where he was born Oct. 6, 1861. He was a son of William and Rebecca Smith Lippencott.

"In 1882 he married Sarah Elizabeth Zook, who died in 1927. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

"He was the father of six children, of whom four survive. They are Ewing Lippencott, Clarksville, R. D. 1; Edna, wife of Furman Nichols, Morrisville; Chauncy Lippencott and Ora Lippencott, both of Brownsville; Barkley Lippencott and Lulu Lippencott are deceased.

"Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Rachel Ann Bell, of Waynesburg, the last of a large family."
