SPRING GROVE – Ellen E. Bortner, 91, of Spring Grove, died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover.
The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Jacob's Union Church, Brodbecks RD 1. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Sauter-Irwin Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Miss Bortner was born May 25, 1906, in Codorus Township. She was the daughter of the late George W. and Tersie (Rohrbaugh) Bortner.
She worked for the former Dallmeyer Sewing Factory in Spring Grove, retiring in 1976. She was a member of St. Jacob's (Stone) Lutheran congregation.
Miss Bortner is survived by a foster son, Laverne G. Bortner of Spring Grove RD 6; and nieces and nephews.
Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Richard C. Weaver.
