William Albaugh was born in Loudon Township, September 11, 1821, and died in that township last Friday. He was aged 93 years, 4 months and 11 days. He was a son of Solomon and Priscilla (McKissin) Albaugh and was married to Catherine Sells, October 14, 1843, who preceded him to the grave, November 15, 1882. To this union was born nine children; Anthony, Catherine, Priscilla, Solomon, Mary, Caroline, William, Peter and Robert. All the children are living but Catherine, Priscilla and Peter. Mr. Albaugh spent his entire life in Loudon Township. He was a kind and considerate man, was held in high esteem and will be greatly missed in the community in which he has lived such a long life. But few are given such lease in years as this man enjoyed. For more than 93 years his name has been known in the community. For 85 years he has been familiar with the doings of the vicinity. His life has been a wonderful one. His parents were staunch Lutherans and his early Christian training was along that line. One brother James Albaugh of Amsterdam, is living. Beside six children he is survived by 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral services were held Monday and his pastor, Rev. J. H. Lutz, officiated. Interment was made in Kilgore.
