John Wesley McGee, son of Henry Hicks and Delilah Vickers McGee, born March 13, 1851, in Stewart County, Tennessee. John Wesley was the first child of the family of eleven children: John Wesley, Margaret, Rebecca Ann, Mary Caroline, Emma, William E. , Lavena, Lavesta, Navada, Thomas and Lavona.
John Wesley died January 16, 1853, three months before the second child, Margaret, born April 6, 1853. Henry and Delilah were members of the Standing Rock Methodist Church and the child John Wesley McGee was buried in the Standing Rock Cemetery on the hill above the Church.
