Roger is the son of Frank Patterson and Opal Marie Leathers. He was born in Winfield, Henry Co.,Iowa. He is a Korean War veteran and landed with the Marines at Inchon. He received four battle stars and left the military as a sargeant. He met and married Claire Rhea Moussette on April 19,1952 at the Great Lakes Naval Station base chapel. They are the parents of Steven Gregory and Gloris Brooke. Between 1957 and 1962 he worked for the Atomic Energy Comission as an expediter for the components for the hydrogen bomb. He lived most of his life in New London and Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. After a valiant battle with cancer he passed from this life under the care of his wife at their home. He was a loving son, a wonderful and caring father and the best GRANDPA EVER...
