A lifelong resident of Uniontown, he was a retired employee of the State Liquor Control Board, a veteran of World War II. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Max Francis Plichta III, Uniontown, William Frank Plichta, Cleveland Ohio, Pfc. Carl Andrew Plichta, with the U.S. Army, and Grace Marie at home; his mother Mrs Anna Kurtik Plichta, Uniontown; two grandchildren: a brother Irvin, Smithfield: three sisters, Mrs Irene basta, Mrs. John (Anna) Petruska, and Betty Plichta, all of Uniontown.
Friends are being received in the Victor A. DeCarlo Funeral Home , Gallatin Ave. today from 2 until 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. and until 10:45 Saturday morning at which time short prayers will be held followed by Requlem High Mass at St Therese R.C. Church at 11:30 with Rev. Fr. Nicholas J. Thomas as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
