John Clinton Browning was the son of Melville Biles Browning and Mollie Love. His grandparents were Robert J. Browning and Frances W. Biles, Thomas O. Love and Lucretia "Lucy" Pettey. Clint married Gracie Clara Carroll on 10 Dec 1912 in Elkmont, Limestone County, AL. She was the daughter of George C. Carroll and Lula Losson Williamson.
