Mrs. Clara (Browning) Hargrove of Sardis Springs received word Thursday that her son, S/Sgt. Horace Browning in the Philippine Islands, was wounded in action and is in the Hospital.

S/Sgt. Horace C. Browning died from wounds received February 23 in Manilla according to a wire received by his mother Mrs. Clara Browning Hargrove, Athens, Route 1. She was notified on March 22 that he had been wounded. Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 22, at Sardis Springs Baptist church at 2:30 p.m.
