Frederick, 88, S. Lincoln St., Minster, died at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.

He was a son to Henry and Emma (Thieman) Schmitmeyer. On Aug 23, 1947, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, he married Alberta Wellman, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Steve (Linda), Valencia, PA; two daughters, Joyce (Brad) Keiser, Houston, and Jenny (Stephen) Hodge, Tipp City; a sister, Velma Wellman, Coldwater; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Schmitmeyer, Minster, and Mary Wellman, Coldwater; and eight grandchildren: John, Luke, and Eleanor Schmitmeyer, Cassidy (Brian) Grimm, Robyn (Kevin) Seger, Grant, Weston, and Rachael Hodge.

Deceased are ten siblings.

He attended St. Augustine Catholic Church and was a member of the Minster Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #1391, and a past member of the Auglaize County Fair Board. He was retired from dairy farming since 1976. He had also been a resident driver for Heritage Manor Nursing Center. He thought the world of his family; he loved to tell stories, and in his leisure, enjoyed fishing.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Augustine Church, Minster, with Fr. Mark Hoying, officiating.
