HEMINGWAY - Albert T. Huggins, 72, retired lumberman and farmer of Hemingway, died in a local hospital Sunday morning after seven-weeks' illness.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Ebenezer Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Charles Moore, pastor, and Rev. C. H. Beard, pastor of Hemingway's First Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home, will be in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Barrineau, Sam Rogers, E. L. Cribb, Willis Haselden,Jr., Thea Cox, L. G. Smith, Jr.
Members of the Indiantown Masonic Lodge and Fishers of Men Club will be honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Huggins was the son of the late John Samuel and Isabelle Josephine Hughes Huggins of Hemingway where he was born and spent his lifetime. Until his retirement he owned and operated A. T. Huggins Lumber Co. and was a farmer. He was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church where he had served as treasurer, steward and superintendent of the Sunday School.
He was a member of the Indiantown Masonic Lodge and Fishers of Men Club of Hemingway.
He was married to the late Ellen Haselden Huggins.
Surviving are three sons, Harry W. Huggins, A Merridan Huggins and Bennie C. Huggins, all of Hemingway; a half- brother, Marion Huggins of Monks Corner; two half- sisters, Mrs Clifton Sessions of Georgetown and Mrs. Ivy Cook of Hemingway. Source; Florence Morning News, 27 Jan 1964
