John Samuel Huggins
Hemingway, Sept.,22 - John Samuel Huggins, 83, one of Hemingway's elder citizens, died in the Johnson Memorial Hospital Friday night following an extended illness. He was a retired Farmer.

Funeral services will be at 3 p. m. Sunday in The Huggins Chapel Southern Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. L. L. Romaley, pastor, the Rev. J. M. Dowling, the Rev. H. J. Bennett, Jr., the Rev. C. H. Beard and the Rev. Theus W. Rogers. Burial will be in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery.

Mr. Huggins was the son of the late John and Louise Miller Huggins. He was a member and one of the founders of the Huggins Chapel Southern Methodist Church here.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Narcissus O'Rella Cox Huggins and two children, Liston O'Neal Huggins and Violet Pearl Huggins Osborne.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julie Haselden Huggins and by a former marriage, the following children survive: Two daughters, Mrs Sam Poston of Florence, Mrs. Gary Poston of Johnsonville; Four sons, Tonlis Huggins of Johnsonville, M.S. Huggins of Charlotte, Albie D. Huggins of Beaufort and Massabeau Huggins of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Two brothers, Albert Huggins and W. Jack Huggins both of Hemingway; Four sisters, Mrs. Phillip Moise and Mrs. Alec Rogers of Charleston and Mrs. Effie C. Cribb and Mrs. Walter Cox of Hemingway.
