Wesley- Funeral mass for Matilda M Goetz of Algona was celebrated by Father Paul Bormann in St Joseph Catholic Church at Wesley. Burial was in the church cemetery, the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeraal home of Wesley in charge.
Casket bearers were Andrew and Mart Goetz, Tim McGreevey, Tim Atencio. Patrick Rowan, Jerry Vitzthum, Joe Judge and Greg DeLander.
Mathilda Marie, daughter of John and Caroline Mulert Arndorfer, was born at St Benedict in Kossuth County, IA on April 14 1904. She attended school at St. Benedict, then worked until she was married to Leo Goetz Sept 29 1926 at St Benedict.

Mr and Mrs Goetz farmed in the Wesley area their entire married life. Following the death of her husband on March 29 1974, Mathilda continued to live in the Wesley area until she became a resident at the Algona Manor March 27 1989. She died at the Manor Wednesday Oct 2 1991.
Mrs Goetz enjoyed gardening, playing cards, embroidery and fancy work. She was a member of St Joseph's Church, the CD of A and the Lucky Eight Card Club.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Goetz of Dallas TX and Robert Goetz of Denver Co; and seven daughters, Elain Mrs Glenn Amber West Des Moines; Pat, Mrs Jerry Judge, Boone; Jean Vitzthum, Dakota City; Ruth, Mrs Arnold Brandt, Titonka; Delores, Mrs Mike Rowan, St Paul, MN; Grace, Mrs John DeLander, St Michael, MN and Kathy Mrs Paul Schneider, Bloomington, MN. There are 35 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Six brothers and sisters also survive, Erma Lichter, Algona; Leonard Arndorfer, Wesley; Clarence 'Bud' Arndorfer, Art Arndorfer, Martan, Mrs Ray McKenna and Betty, Mrs Gordon Loebig, all of Algona.
Two daughters, Lucille Atencio and Arlene Goetz; a brother, Arnold Arndofer and sister Lorraine Campbell, are deceased.
