Lester H. "Pood" ALDERFER, 81, Rt. 3, Rochester, died at 12:24 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Hospital following a one-day illness. He was born June 19, 1909 in Fulton County to Clinton and Nettie McCLURE ALDERFER. He lived in Rochester all his life. On Jan. 21, 1936 in Valparaiso he married Erma V. McKEE, who survives. He was the owner/operator of Alignment & Mechanical Service. He also farmed. Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Marcella LOWERY, Granger, and Mrs. Weldon (Sara J.) BAKER, Rochester; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edith CLEVENGER, Rochester, and Luetta MARTENS, Eastman, Ga. Preceding in death were a son, James Lester [ALDERFER], in 1983; a grandson; five sisters, and four brothers. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. C.J. MOWRER officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Center I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Saturday and after noon Sunday.
