Leo ALDERFER, 68, died at 6 p.m. Monday at his home on R.R. 1, Argos, of a heart seizure. Born March 1, 1895 in Fulton county, he was the son of Clinton and Wilnetta McCLURE ALDERFER. He was married Jan. 29, 1917 at Plymouth to Gertrude FLETCHER, who survives. Mr. Alderfer, a farmer, had lived in the Argos community for the past 42 years, coming from Kosciusko county. He was a member of the Walnut Gospel church. Surviving with the wife are two sons, Hermen and Weldon [ALDERFER], both of R.R. 1, Argos; six grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Earl (Glenn) HARTMAN, Mrs. Dean (Mable) ARMEY, Mrs. Harry (Florence) MORRIS, Mrs. Luetta MARTENS, all of South Bend, and Mrs. Walter (Edith) CLEVENGER, Rochester; four brothers, Vern [ALDERFER], South Bend; Ralph and Lester [ALDERFER], Rochester, and Carl [ALDERFER], Tippecanoe. A daughter, a son and two sisters preceded him in death. Services will be at the Walnut Gospel church at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Revs. Roman MILLER of South Bend and James WALSH officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Center I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the Alderfer home after 7 p.m. today until 11 a.m. Thursday and at the church from noon until time of services. The Grossman funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
