Mr. Darnell E. "Don" Adkisson, age 73, of Ekron, died November 18,1999, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born January 18, 1926, the son of the late Darnell and Elsie Orr Adkisson. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Leanda Whelan Adkisson of Ekron; nine children, Mrs. Donna Schenck, Mrs. Debbie Gowen, Mr. Alan Adkisson, Mr. Timmy Adkisson, Mrs. Roselle Muse, all of Vine Grove, and Mrs. Sonja Brown, Mr. Ronnie Adkisson, Mrs. Melinda Hubbard and Mrs. Greg Adkisson, all of Brandenburg; three brothers, Mr. Butch Adkisson, Mr. Jack Adkisson, both of Payneville, and Mr. Penny Adkisson of Louisville; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Pitcock of Louisville; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Adkisson was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Fulton, and the 30-year owner and operator of Don's TV Sales and Service in Brandenburg. Funeral services were held November 22, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, in Flaherty, with Reverend Robert Mills Officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Hager Funeral Home.
