August Frederick Janssen, 92, of Augusta died at 12:10 p.m. Monday, April 6, 1992 at his home.
He was born July 27, 1899 in Coatsburg to Fred and Bertha (Dicks) Janssen. He married Erma Donley June 18, 1924 in Big Neck, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Clyde Janssen of Plymouth and Dean Janssen of Augusta; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Jean) Allen of Lancaster, Calif. and Mrs. Doris Kerr of Augusta; one brother, Ben of Coatsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Anne Oberling and Mrs. Hedwig Hunter of Quincy; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two grandsons.
Mr. Janssen was a retired farmer in the Coatsburg and Augusta areas. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and the Augusta Senior Citizens.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Faith Lutheran Church in Augusta with the Rev. Brooks Schramm officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta.
Memorials may be made to his church or the Augusta Senior Citizens.
