He was born on March 1, 1925, in Coatsburg, to August and Erma Donley Janssen. He was first married to Mary Mullen in 1953. He later married Deloris Murfin Frakes on Sept. 24, 1966, in Macomb. She died Sept. 16, 1998.
Clyde worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a graduate of Augusta High School and had attended the Plymouth Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, working on his farm, and spending time in any outdoor activities.
Clyde proudly served his country as a World War II in the Army.
He is survived by 10 children, Karen (John) Reutner of Mendota, LaJean Baker of Macomb, Rose Janssen of Mendota, Vicky Plummer of Plymouth, Debbie (Jim) Roberts of Plymouth, Tammy Janssen of Plymouth, Donnie (Sara) Agans of Birch Tree, Mo., Mike Wear of Mendota, Craig Frakes of Plymouth, and Jeff (Judy) Frakes of Plymouth; a brother, Dean (Wilma) Janssen of Augusta; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Cora Grim.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Janssen; and two sisters, Jean Allen and Doris Kerr.
Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation. Private burial will at a later date.
The visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta.
Memorials may be made to the Chris Miller Ball Park Fund.
