Charles E. [Ed} Moberly was born 1 March 1867 his parents being Charles Epperson and Nancy Wood Moberly. Charles had a troubled life and was in and out of mental institutions. He died 19 Feb 1944 at the Hastings Mental institution in Minnesota. He was buried in the Lake side Cemetery in Hastings Minnesota. In Oct of 1947 his body was removed to Motley, Minnesota to be placed next to that of his brother Augustus and sister-in-law Lizzie. Charles never married. A letter from the historian of the City of Hastings states, "Older people around town remember him for selling fresh fish, which he caught in lakes and rivers around town. They knew he lived at the State Hospital for the mentally ill, but he was well balanced and quite a normal likeable fellow."
