Nancy was born in Muncie, Indiana. Her parents were Edward Wood and Elizabeth Shimmer Wood. Nancy lived in Indiana until 1852 when she removed with her family to Blackhawk, Iowa. She married Charles Epperson Moberly 11 September 1859. She had 9 children, seven living. Julias A. Moberly, Charles E. Moberly, Elvin and Bertha Moberly [twins] John Newton Moberly, Louis A. Moberly and Augustus Moberly. After the death of Charles, her husband, Nancy went to live with her sister in Webster City, Iowa. Nancy died 12 Apr. 1916 in Webster City and her body was removed to Lester,Lyon Co., Iowa where she is buried in the Hillside Cemetery in an unmarked grave. She united with the Methodist church when quite young and some years later entered into a much deeper religious experience. She was of a very generous nature, loving to share with others and giving to them the larger portion. Nancy was patient, uncomplaining and cheerful.
