Hazel V. Barton, 84, of Parkersburg, passed away Oct. 17, 2011 at The Willows Center.

She was born Jan. 29, 1927 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Everett and Janie Cale Piggott.

Hazel was retired from B. F. Goodrich in Marietta after 17 years of service and had worked at American Viscose for 29 years. She enjoyed playing the organ and enjoyed her family. She was a member of the 14th Ave. Gospel Mission Church.

She is survived by six children, Carolyn (Warren) Brookover of Parkersburg, Sharolyn (Carroll) Davidson of Conover, N.C., Stephen (Sherri) Barton of Pettyville, Judith (Roy) Balderson of Davisville, Debra (Donald) Lucky of Rockport, and Linda (William) Sherrill of Middlebourne; five brothers and sisters, Martha McNickle of Marietta, Patricia (Wayne) Krepps of Ohio, William Piggott of Pettyville, James (Shirlene) Piggott of Wood County, and David Piggott of Parkersburg; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and special friends, Jenny Whitehead, Mammie Piggott, her buddy, Irene Cress and several other friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Richard Piggott, and three sisters, Nellie Reed, Dolly Boso and Ruthie Piggott.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
