Died – At his home in the town of Chilton on Friday, March 8, Joseph Wettstein, aged 53 years and 23 days. Joseph Wettstein was born Feb. 13, 1842, in Germany. In 1855 he came to America with his parents and shortly afterwards located in the town of Marytown, Fond du Lac County. In 1864 he was married to Katie Hoffmann and four years later purchased a farm in Chilton on which he resided until his death. He was a man held in high respect by his neighbors and has been a member of the town board for a number of years. He was a loving husband and devoted father, a kind and obliging neighbor. His funeral took place on Sunday and was largely attended. He leaves a wife, eleven children, five brothers and one sister to mourn his death.
