Alvin Dale Powell, 71, R.R. 4, Liberty, Indiana died Tuesday at his home. A native of Connersville, Indiana he had resided most of his life in Bristol, Indiana coming to Union County for residence two years ago.
He was a retired house painter and an Army veteran of WWII.
Mr. Powell was a member of the American Legion at Bristol and the Disabled American Veterans Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jo Fann of Bristol and Jerylann Pegalow of Rantoul, Illinois; a brother, Gale Powell, of Liberty; six sisters, Mrs. Frieda Campbell, Mrs. Wilhelmane Blakley, Mrs. Maxine Hensley, Mrs. Patricia Hensley all of Liberty, Mrs. Nellie Nicholson of Pekin, Indiana, and Mrs. Marjorie Collins of Connersville; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, in 1979.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home in Bristol where friends may from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Bristol.
Local arrangements were in charge of Showalter-Blackwell, Baker Fosdick Chapel of Liberty.
