Services Held For Wendell Anderson
Funeral services for Wendell O. Anderson of Argyle were held Wednesday morning, January 20th, at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Rose church in Argyle.
Father Rousseau and Father Ditzler conducted the service. A full military service, with Commander Clayton Dufault in charge, also honored the deceased. Interment will be in the spring at the *Woodlawn cemetery [*obituary inaccurate]. Pallbearers were members of the local American Legion, O.E. LaBine, W. Robertson, D. Rousseau, C. Hammerback, R. Brouillard and C. Dufault.
Wendell Anderson was born April 13, 1924 at Stephen, Minnesota the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Anderson. He attended school at Stephen and grew to manhood there. He served in Germany in World War II and was a member of the American Legion of Argyle.
He was united in marriage in Stephen, on October 27th, 1943 to Bernice Parent of Argyle. Following their marriage they made their home in Argyle where he was employed by the Witcher Construction Co., for many years.
Wendell passed away Saturday, January 16th, at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minnesota following an illness of three months.
He underwent surgery December 7th at Rochester and complications caused his death.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice, one daughter J. at home, two sons, D. in the service at Fort Knox, Kentucky and D. of Moorhead, Minn. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Anderson of Karlstad, two sisters, Mrs. H. (E.) S. of Stephen and Mrs. G. (M.) B. of Deer River, Minn, and one grandson, J. A.
Relatives who attended the funeral were from Karlstad, St. Paul, Chicago, Deer River, Hallock, Stephen, and Fargo.
