Bertha is the daughter of Charles and Augusta Johnson. She had at least one sister named Louise (1877 - 1947). She married Reinhardt Rothschild (aka George Rothschild) in 1898, and they had four children together: Augusta (md Harry Fabry); Elsie (md Harold Jehne); Irene (md Anthony April); and George (md (1) Mary Rickey and (2) Rose Hart). Bertha and Reinhardt divorced in 1920. She married Edward F. Offer (2 Feb 1880 - 17 Nov 1923), son of Fredrich Offer and Margaret Raridon. The marriage ended with his death. She married Fred Polkinghorne August 26, 1925, shortly after the death of her daughter Augusta, and just a few months after the death of Fred's first wife Lillian Bayless. The marriage ended with Bertha's death in 1959. Prior to her death, she had spent 10 weeks at the home of her daughter, Irene Rothschild April, at 1524 Wellston, Ave. Her cause of death was bronco-pneumonia complicated by Parkinson's Disease.
