Rev. Lawrence J. Beaver

LAGRANGE - Rev. Lawrence J. Beaver, 86, of 410 W. Spring, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday in Miller's Merry Manor. He was born on Nov. 16, 1896, in Huntington County. On July 20, 1919, he married Esther M. Barker. She survives with a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Marjorie) Combs of LaGuna Niguel, Calif.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Mrs. Carl (Betty) Tinsman of Englewood, Colo., Miss Eleanor Beaver, Mrs. Hilda Bolinger and Mrs. Lewetta Swainder, all off Huntington; Mrs. Esther Ashley, Mrs. Chester (Crystal) Lumm and Mrs. Maurice (Wanda) Zion, all of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Burton of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Russell of Albuquerque, N.M. He was a farmer and became pastor of the Big Lake Church of God, Columbia City. In 1930, he became pastor of the LaGrange Church of God, and the Emma Church of God, retiring in 1968.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the LaGrange Church of God. Rev. Ronald Drake, pastor, and Rev. James Parker, pastor of the Stone Lake Church of God, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday in the Frurip May Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the LaGrange Church of God.
