Daughter of James Allen Williams and Samantha Idella Cole. She had siblings; Leticia "Tishie" Williams (who died at age 17), Mamie Tennessee Williams (Mrs. Walter) Forehand, Carl Leslie Williams, Betty Marie Williams (Mrs. George T.) Loftis, and several brothers and sisters who died as infants. Her mother gave birth to 11 children which included 2 sets of twins and a set of triplets. Mae Williams Linville and Carl Leslie Williams were twins.

Mae Williams married John P. Linville in Earle, Crittenden County, Arkansas on October 25, 1914. They were the parents of Johnny D. Linville, Monila E. Linville Lunsford, Margie Marie Linville Flora, Leslie Andrew Linville and Belvia Idella Linville.

MRS. JOHN LINVILLE
Mrs. Mae W. Linville of Earle, widow of John Linville, died Thursday afternoon at a clinic in Wynne [Wynne Medical Clinic.].

Services will be at 2 pm Sunday at Citizens Funeral Home Chapel [West Memphis] with burial in Gibson Bayou Cemetery near Earle.

Mrs. Linville, 73, was born at Gibson Bayou (correction:Kentucky), and had lived most her life in [Earle] Crittenden County. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Earle.

She leaves two sons, Leslie Linville of Bald Knob and Johnny Linville of Hedley, Tex; a daughter, Mrs. Monita (Monila) Lunsford of Earle; a sister, Mrs. Marie Loftis of Memphis; a brother, Carl Williams of Memphis; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Note: The obituary contains errors and incorrectly stated that Mae Williams Linville was the widow of John Linville. John Linville and Mae Williams Linville had in fact been divorced for many years and John Linville was married to Betty Polk Winders Linville at the time of his death in 1971.
