Jacob Summerow was the son of Elizabeth Whitener and Henry Summerow.

He married March 7, 1821 (marriage bond dated March 7, 1821; Jacob Hallman was surety), Barbara Adaline Hallman, findagrave #20196440, daughter of Rachel Warlick and Henry Hallman, Jr.

Barbara Adaline Hallman was born February 15, 1801; died November 25, 1875, aged 74 years, 9 months, 10 days; buried at St. Matthews German Reformed Church.

They had eight children:
