Vincent Lorenzo Henderson was born Sep 4 1830 in New York State. He came to CA by covered wagon in 1852, died Aug 26 1881. Moved to IN when a boy. He married Nancy Humphreys Oct 12 1854 in Marysville, CA. They had nine children. Vincent and Nancy lived on a small place near Wheatland. Eight children were born while living there. In the summer or fall of 1871 they left, by wagon coming north looking for work and a place to locate. In the same emigrant train were Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Price. (Mrs. Jane Price being a sister of Mrs. Nancy Henderson's) and Billie Grey, a young friend of the Price's.
Mr. Henderson came to the Henry Wilson place, about 6 miles west of
Corning. Place owned by Henry Clark now 1931. They moved to Paskenta 1872.
On Sep 5 1873, youngest daughter, Nancy Elizabeth was born and on Sept 17 1873 the mother Nancy Henderson died of measles.
Vincent L. Henderson fell from his horse on Aug 26 1881 causing his death instantly. The accident happened about two miles east of Paskenta. Both Mr. & Mrs. Henderson are buried in the Paskenta Cemetery.
