"Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Botkin, wife of J. G. Botkin passed away in Corning on Tues. A.M. March 24 1931 at 8 A. M. Nancy Elizabeth Henderson was born near Paskenta Sep 5 1873. Her mother died when she was 12 days old and her oldest sister, Mrs. Mary A. Mitchell and husband took the baby and reared her as their own.
She married Joseph G. Botkin on Jan 17 1897. Eight children were born to this union. It is a stange incident, that she was born, reared and was married and has spent the last 4 years of her life in the same house. The Mary A.
Mitchell home. She has spent all her life in the Paskenta section.
Mrs. Botkin leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Joseph George Botkin four sons, Floyd Botkin of Tehama, CA; Clair Botkin of Paskenta; Harold Botkin of Orland; George Botkin of Chico and three daughters; Mrs. Helen Burt of Vina, CA, Mrs. Julia Miller of Richmond, CA; Mrs. Wanda Hutchens of Glenn, CA. Also her foster mother, Mrs. Mary A. Mitchell, two brothers - R. L. Mitchell and C. A. Mitchell and two sisters - Mrs. N. E. Kerling and Mrs. J. W. Hulse all of Paskenta.
It will be remembered that her own brother Frank B. Henderson was laid to rest in this cemetery on Dec 7 of last year."
