ETHEL SHOCKLEY SUCCUMBS AT 88
Ethel M. Shockley, 88, died in a local nursing home at 6:15 o'clock this morning following an extended illness.
Her husband, John B. Shockley, precceded her in death April 30, 1930.
Born in Missouri, Mrs. Shockley moved to Howard County in 1912 and had spent the balance of her life in Howard and Martin counties.
Rites are pending at the River-Welch Funeral Home.

Survivors include three sons, J.B. Shockley and W.T. Shockley, both of the Knott community, and Cecil Shockley, Dimmitt; three daughters, Mrs. W.Y.(Ruth) Crawford, Corpus Christi, Mrs. Jane Dutcher, San Antonio, and Mrs. E.G. (Irene) Harrison, Sulpher, La; 29 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Gale Routh, Pasco, Wash.; and a brother, George Cox, Tacoma, Wash.
A son, Clarence Walter Shockley, and a daughter Mrs. R. W. (Zelma) Carr, preceded her in death.
