William Tinsley was born before 1795 in Virginia, and died before July 25, 1833, when his wife, Jane, married Obediah Leonard in Lincoln County, Kentucky. Place of death and burial are unknown.

He married Jane Eubanks November 23, 1814 in Lincoln County, Kentucky.
Know all men by these presents that we William Tinsley & John Eubanks are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the penal sum of 50 pounds for the payment of which will bind our selves our heirs &c given under our hand and seal this 23 day of November 1814 The condition of the bond is such that where as this a license about to be issued for a marriage intended between the above bound William Tinsley & Jane Eubanks Now should there be no legal cause to obstruct said marriage this the bond to be void else to remain in full force.

William's son, Bennett, was born 1819 in Missouri. There was a William Tinsley in the 1819 Tax List, Montgomery County, Missouri, J. Pitman, Sheriff. It's unknown if this is him.

His wife, Jane's, obituary says they had five children, three sons and two daughters. Only two sons and one daughter have been found. The other son and daughter may have died young.
