Lucy's dates on her tombstone are 1836 to 1913. In the 1860 census her birth year calculates to 1834. On her death certificate the entire date is given as 21 Jan 1834 and death date is 17 July 1912 age 78y 6m 26d. Her death certificate lists her parents as John Malone and "Eliz Atkin." The informant on her death certificate is very difficult to read. It might be Armintha Ross -- Ross is clear, but first name is not, might check 1910 census for Saxton area, as she might be listed -- one would assume this is a daughter-in-law or daughter. Perhaps it is Minnie, the wife of her son, William. According to Lucy's brother's CW Pension files (John Malone), William Ross possessed the Malone family Bible in the late 1800s. I have so far been unable to track the current location of that Bible, which might yield more information regarding Eliza's origins and possibly John Malone's origins. According to the 1880 census, James and Lucy had a seventh child in Broad Top Township, 1880 Eliza Ross dau age 23 b PA. What became of her?

Lucy's brother, Pvt Charles Malone was born about Jul 8, 1843. He was wounded at the Wilderness on May 8, 1864 and died at Salisbury Prison, Rowan County, North Carolina on Dec 26, 1864.
From the Bedford [PA] Inquirer, April 7, 1865: "CHARLES N. MALONE; Private of Company F, 8th P.R.C., son of John and Eliza B. Malone died December 26, 1864 in Salisbury Prison, North Carolina - Aged 21 years, 5 months, 18 days."
