Retha Joyce Creef Marsh, 81, of 905 W. Elizabeth St., Elizabeth City, NC, died Monday, May 17, 2010 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, Virginia Beach, VA.
Mrs. Marsh, a native of Dare County, was the daughter of the late Van Creef and Lola Ann Alexander Creef and the wife of the late Monty Monroe Marsh.
Mrs. Marsh is survived by a son, Terry Wayne Marsh and his wife Catherine of Terrytown, LA; two grandchildren, Jennifer Engolia and her husband Joey and Terry W. Marsh, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Monty Waters and Lillie Simone Engolia; and two sisters, Grace Whidbee and her husband Mack of Elizabeth City, NC and Marjorie Bafford of Baltimore, MD.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Retha Gail Marsh; her son, Charles Wayne Marsh; sisters, Ruby Grimstead, Iva Mae Thornton, Iris Mae Smith and Delma Bateman; brothers, Archie Creef, Gilbert Creef and Bill Creef.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Twiford's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rick Lowery officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home following the service and at other times at the residence. Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Marsh family.
