Grace Marie Whidbee, 90 of 914 Third Street, Elizabeth City, NC died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation. She was born August 30, 1927 in East Lake, NC to the late Van Creef and Lola A. Alexander Creef and was the wife of Leslie K. Mac Whidbee of the residence. She was the oldest female member of Pearl Street Pentecostal Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Sherry Burt (Dave) of Denver, NC; two sons, William Whidbee (Lisa) and Reid Basnight (Maryann) all of Elizabeth City, NC; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son, Danny Ray Showers; a grand son-in-law, James Mateo; seven sisters; and four brothers.
A funeral service will be held Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Pearl Street Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Rick Lowery officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
