ELIZABETH CITY, NC - Mr. Wilford Lee "Bill" Creef, age 79, of 900 Berea Church Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Albemarle Hospital.

Mr. Creef was born in Dare County, NC, the son of the late Van O. and Lola Ann Alexander Creef, and was the husband of Fannie Alexander Creef.

He was a retired Southern Baptist minister; retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility in Norfolk, VA with Materials and Supply; and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Besides his wife, Mr. Creef is survived by one daughter, Anya C. Davis of Camden, NC; two sons, Franklin Creef of Colonial Heights, VA and William Creef of Elizabeth City, NC; three sisters, Grace Whidbee and Joyce Marsh of Elizabeth City, NC, Margie Bafford of Baltimore, MD; one brother, Archie Creef of Carrboro, NC; and two grandchildren, Caitlin Davis and Patrick Davis.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at 2:00 PM in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, NC.

Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will be at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to Ocean View Baptist Church, Great Hope Baptist Church, or Berea Baptist Church. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, NC is in charge of arrangements.
