Elizabeth Vanhoy McMichael Douglas, 97, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. A native of Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Annie Fulp and Arthur Swain Vanhoy. She was the oldest member of First Presbyterian Church of Kernersville. She was preceded in death by husbands: Luther Carl McMichael and Claude Douglas; daughters, Sybil M. Watson and Annie Jane Whicker; and brothers, Ernest, Herbert, Demis and Henry Vanhoy. Survivors include her son-in-law, Wendell Watson and their devoted friend, Barbara Hall of Kernersville; daughter, Faye Neal; sisters, Edith Preston of Belews Creek, Treva Williams and Vennie Speaks, both of Kernersville; brother, Fred Vanhoy of Kernersville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
