LUTHER JOHNSON DIES IN OREGON, BRING BODY HERE
The body of Luther Johnson, 78, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Flora M. Hiddleson, Portland, Ore., yesterday morning will be brought to Burlington and will be taken to Prugh's chapel. Burial will be in Prairie Grove cemetery. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
Mr. Johnson was a resident of Middletown for 20 years and left here three years ago to make his home with his daughter at Portland. Death followed an extended illness. Mr. Johnson was born at Prairie Grove, Dec. 25, 1853. He was united in marriage to Miss Anna Gray at Bedford in 1882. Mrs. Johnson died 13 years ago.
Mr. Johnson is survived by one son, G. Rollie Johnson of Sperry; the one daughter; four brothers, Harvey and Gilbert of Hartford, Wash, Henry of Nashville, Ga., and Charley of Prairie Grove; a niece, Mrs. Blanche Davidson of Burlington and five grandchildren. One sister preceded him In death six weeks ago.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Presbyterian church at MIddletown.
