Fond du Lac Reporter, Wed. Nov. 10, 1993. Funeral services for Alfred "Fritz" Baus, 88, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Marytown, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Huss Funeral Home in St. Cloud and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Marytown. The Rev. Joe Coerber will officiate. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a parish vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Mr. Baus died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1993, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1905,in St. Cloud, a son of Valentine and Rose Schrage Baus. On Jan. 26, 1926, he married Mary Schwind at Our Lady of Angels Church in Armstrong. Mr. Baus attended St. Cloud Catholic Grade School and graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High School in 1923. He was employed at the State Bank of St. Cloud from 1924 to 1927 and was an assistant cashier at Calvary Bank from 1927 to 1928. He was employed at F & M Bank in Marytown from 1928 to 1969, retiring as president and chairman of the board. He was a past president of Fond du Lac County Bankers Association, a member of the 50-Year Club of Wisconsin Bankers Association and a member of Independent Banker Association. He was a charter member and past president of Winnebago East Shore Lions Club, a charter member of Marytown Athletic Club, a charter member of Winnebago Tribe No. 52 of Improved Order of Redmen, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. Survivors include one son, Kenneth and his wife Rosemary of Marytown; five daughters, Cecelia Loehr and her husband George, and Ruth "Toots" Steffen and her husband Gerald, all of Fond du Lac, Betty J. Lees of Savannah, Ga.; Rose Michels and her husband Donald of North Fond du Lac, and Mary Schlueter and her husband Warren of Santa Barbara, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Dr. Val and his wife Vera of Venice, Fla. Preceding him in death were his wife in 1989; two sons, Anthony "Jim" and Daniel; two great-grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers.
