STATESBORO --- Services for Elder J. Edwin Glisson will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church with burial in Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, near Glennville. Glisson, 75, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999. He was ordained into the ministry at Corinth Primitive Baptist Church in Macon, later moving to Ozark Primitive Baptist Church. He had served churches such as Tifton Primitive Baptist Church and Mount Union Primitive Baptist Church and was a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Earline Glisson; children, Pamela Ringer of St. Louis, Mo., and Lynn Groover of Marietta; sisters and brothers, Mondle Gill and Geraldine Bacon, both of Savannah, Frieda Chandler of Decatur, Doris Lindeberg of Atlanta, Nira Stephens of Marietta, Elder Huey Glisson of Wrightsville and the Rev. Joe Glisson of Dalton; and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 5 tonight in Joiner-Shepard Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church Building Fund, 4 South Zetterower Ave., Statesboro 30458.
