Maude Asenath Stevens is the third child (in a family of thirteen children) born to Charles Franklin Stevens Jr. and Aurelia Spencer.

She was married to Joseph Melling Jones on October 14, 1919 in the St. George Temple. They had six children: Irene, Laura, Elsie, Lola, Utanna and Beverly.
