Mrs. Ethel Toothman Gray, 73, 1532 W. Memorial Dr., died Wednesday at Ball Memorial Hospital following a seven-week illness. A native of Henry County, she was the daughter of William and Etta (Craig) Hartley. She was a member of First Wesleyan Methodist Church. Mrs. Gray was employed at Ball Brothers Co. for 24 years prior to her retirement in 1955.
Survivors include her husband, Rufus Gray; a son, Harold Stellway, Muncie; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Harry Haines and Mrs. Robert Ellis, both of Muncie; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Curry, Muncie, and Mrs. Oddra Chase, Eaton; and a brother, Charles Hartley, Muncie.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Parson Mortuary with Rev. Wayne E. Tippey officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and prior to services Saturday.
