He was a native of Henry County and had lived in Muncie most of his life. He retired in 1955 from Central High School where he was employed as a custodian for 20 years.
Other survivors include three sons, William, Robert, and Charles, Jr., all of Muncie; three daughters, Mrs. Fern Clark, Mrs. Doris Barton and Bonnie Kelley, all of Muncie; and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Curry of Muncie, and Mrs. Oddra Chase of Eaton; 22 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Parson Mortuary. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Callers will be received at the mortuary after 11 a.m. Friday.
